Are you ready for the Physician Assistant National Certification Exam (PANCE)?
There’s no time like the present. Make the most of the pause from classes this Winter Break to jumpstart your exam prep.
Simplify your PA school application journey with these study tactics from HealthCareer CERTS and our partner, MyPAbox – the ultimate tool for pre-PA students:
- Create a study plan
The first step in studying for the PANCE exam is to create a study plan. The plan should include a timeline of when you will study and what topics you will cover. It’s important to start studying early, so you have enough time to review all the necessary material. You can break down the topics into smaller subtopics and create a study schedule that fits your learning style.
Practice questions and mock exams are an excellent way to test your readiness and identify where you need to study more. Practice questions can help you become familiar with the exam format and types of questions you can expect. You can also use them to track your progress and see how you are improving over time. Mock exams simulate the actual exam experience and can help you manage your time during the exam.
- Prepare for test day
Physically drive to the test center several days before your actual exam date to see where it is located and have firm knowledge of where to go. For the day prior, sure you have everything packed and ready to go. This is including snacks and anything you may need such as identification. Make sure to take the night prior to the exam off to unwind and relax a little beforehand. For the day of the exam, try to arrive early and do whatever you can so you are as minimally stressed as possible.
- Take Breaks and Practice Self-Care
Studying for the PANCE exam can be exhausting and overwhelming. Taking breaks and practicing self-care is essential to maintain your focus and concentration. Also, prioritize your physical health by getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and staying hydrated.
